About the Mass Tort and Compensation

The claims allege that the management of the Good Samaritan Society was negligent, and ill prepared to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The goal is to get compensation for families, but also to bring change to the Southgate Care Centre, and other long term care centres across the country.

December 2023:

We write to provide you with a further update beyond the update provided in July 2023. We have issued, served, and filed the individual claims. We are now working toward obtaining all documents to support any individual expense claims. September 2023:

We write to provide you with a further update beyond the update provided in July. We have received an order for the discontinuance of the class action we commenced in Alberta. As such, we are now able to proceed with a group of individual actions. Further, the parties have agreed on a timetable to move the litigation forward. To date, all our claims have been drafted and served on the Defendant. We are currently working toward obtaining all documents to support any individual expense claims. July 2023:
