Fatalities are becoming more and more prevalent. My heart goes out to the family who lost their son this week. I also have a 4 year old son. There is nothing worse. The Sun did a great job a couple weeks ago about the increase in fatalities in the City. I spoke last week about distracted driving and how that ...

My associate just got this hand out from the Toronto Police that looks like a ticket but really it is a caution on distracted driving. Now I know I talk about this a lot but there are certain realities to this new high tech age we are living in. The hand out states that the...

I have decided, I am going to be the only one who doesn’t talk about the mayor this week. It is not a moral stance but I think the media has done a great job covering it and hey what more is there to say? I want to talk about sports. Watching the NFL with my husband and watching...

Personal Injury with a Heart - I am so happy to congratulate my brother Isaac Zickind on his “Lawyers Can’t Jump” event. Basically a bunch of out of shape lawyers, (myself included) got together to play basketball and raise money for Sick Kids hospital. Clients often tell me, “Oh if I got injured in the U.S., my recovery would be better.” That is not the case. As someone who studied in U.S. and got her law degree there, I can tell you that while our U.S. counterparts have some good points to their regime, they also have a lot of bad...

After the video with motorcyclists and Range Rover (extremely disturbing) I read that road rage is on the rise. I too have once or twice (maybe more) aggressively honked someone. I found myself cursing as another driver edged forward to refuse to let me in. Not my finest moment. Some interesting stats according to Canada’s Journal of Public Health:

I just returned from our Sudbury office. I am always happy to go there because while it is a big town you get that small town feel. People are extremely welcoming and friendly. Which is great but can often create a problem from a personal injury perspective...

No one is more excited than my husband that the Leafs are in the playoffs, well maybe all of the GTA and surrounding areas. I hear him make plans to attend playoff parties and celebrate are good fortune with his friends. Inevitably at these parties there is some alcohol. In our house there is a rule, if you intend to consume alcohol you take a cab, simple.
