Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (“PFAS”) are long lasting chemicals, which break down very slowly over time. This is why they are often referred to as “forever chemicals”. Some studies show high levels of PFAS in the blood have been associated with a variety of negative and harmful health effects, including increased risk of some cancers, pregnancy complications, impaired immune function and high cholesterol.

Despite claims that period underwear manufactured by both brands’ do not contain PFAS, testing by a third party lab in the U.S. indicates that there may be the presence of PFAS in these products.
