Global Kingdom Ministries Class Action

The cancellation of the construction of the Trinity Ravine Towers has left seniors without homes and without their deposits.  A Pentecostal church called “Global Kingdom Ministries” was behind the project, but it’s not going ahead as originally planned. The corporation now overseeing the development has returned some deposits, but others life-lease holders are still waiting.

About the Class Action / Mass Tort and Compensation

Trinity Ravine Towers was advertised as a “Christian” community with 565 units in two highrises joined by a four-storey podium. Amenities included a 230-seat dining room.

The project’s “life lease” arrangement was transferable and was marketed to individuals 55 years of age and older. Life leases are typically geared toward seniors who may live independently. These projects are usually owned and operated by charitable entities, including faith-based groups and seniors organizations, which are called “sponsors”.

Sponsors are able to create a community with tailored amenities, programming and social activities that promote seniors living independently. They offer a lower price compared to buying a comparable condo unit, which is seen as an attractive feature to those including the seniors who bought into the Trinity Ravine Towers.

Details about the Class Action / Mass Tort

The project’s owner, now called Trinity Ravine Communities Inc., says it’s been issuing refunds and had promised to return all deposits to those who requested them by mid-January 2022, however, this has not happened.

If you or a loved one have entered into an agreement with Global Kingdom Ministries to  purchase a life lease and have not yet received a full refund for the deposit paid, you may be able to secure compensation.
