About MindGeek and Pornhub

MindGeek is the corporate entity behind Pornhub and other exploitative sites. Pornhub has been the center of many controversies relating to stories of abuse and exploitation for many years. MindGeek uses sites like Pornhub to offer a product of “high interest” in the form of free videos. A high volume of these products is obtained for free by uploading “user-generated content”. 

MindGeek follows a profit model where Pornhub and its other affiliated “tube porn” sites are distributed with a steady flow of free materials provided by its users. However, MindGeek ultimately decides how content appears on the website. MindGeek can then monetize this content to earn ad revenues (through an ad company also controlled by MindGeek). Since MindGeek does not employ a stringent process to check “user-generated content,” the very existence of MindGeek results in the dissemination of forms of sexual abuse and exploitation.

Please let us know if you have not been contacted yet. By way of background, a mass tort does not have one representative plaintiff, rather multiple lawsuits that are settled on an individual basis. A mass tort allows the individual to have complete control over their own case and can decide their own settlement. We are currently working on drafting statement of claims and will be in touch with you as more information is required for your individual files.
