Diamond & Diamond Featured In Toronto Star: Jewish students at York University sound alarm over increasing antisemitism

Sandra Zisckind, the managing partner of Diamond & Diamond, has taken a strong stance in defending the rights of Jewish students at York University amidst rising incidents of antisemitism on campus. In the wake of the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel, Jewish students at universities across Ontario, including York University, have faced increased hate and discrimination. Responding to this concerning trend, Diamond & Diamond launched a $15-million class action lawsuit against York University, drawing attention to the institution’s “well-documented history of antisemitic sentiments on its campuses.”

The lawsuit spearheaded by Sandra Zisckind calls for an order mandating York University to address antisemitic behavior on campus and provide a clear and accessible grievance mechanism for Jewish students. Zisckind emphasizes that while political discourse is essential, using it as a guise to propagate antisemitism is unacceptable. She states, “students have a right to go to school and not feel discriminated against.” Through her leadership and commitment to justice, Sandra Zisckind and Diamond & Diamond are standing up against hate and discrimination, ensuring that Jewish students at York University can pursue their education in a safe and inclusive environment.
