Get to know more about Richard J. Chang

Richard joined the Vancouver office of Diamond & Diamond Lawyers in 2017.

He completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Victoria and was called to the Law Society of British Columbia in 2006. Richard has practiced exclusively in the area of personal injury law since.

Early in his legal career, Richard practiced at a prominent insurance defence firm in Vancouver, giving him first-hand knowledge of the tactics commonly employed by insurers and their defendants.

Richard has spent the majority of his career fighting for people who have been hurt by the negligence of others. He has experience with a wide range of injuries including traumatic brain injury, quadriplegia, paraplegia, loss of limbs, orthopaedic injuries, complex chronic pain, central sensitization, psychiatric injuries and other trauma induced injuries.

An experienced trial lawyer, Richard has appeared at trial for his clients in B.C. Supreme Court and at the Court of Appeal. He has obtained judgments at trial that have more than doubled or tripled the defendant’s offer to settle in those cases.
