The City of Toronto cracks down on illegal parking

2015 marked the beginning of Toronto’s zero-tolerance approach towards illegally parked vehicles during rush hour. It started in early January, when approximately 30 vehicles were towed in the a.m. rush hour. Rather than being ticketed, the city is towing vehicles parked on busy roads during rush hour (morning and afternoon) at the owner’s expense. As a reminder, drivers are not permitted to park on most major streets from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the week. Another 6 pedestrians hit on Toronto streets

It was a sad day for Toronto and its residents. In a span of only a few hours (between 4:40 and 6:30 pm), five pedestrians were hurt after being struck by vehicles. A sixth pedestrian was struck early Wednesday morning. One of those struck include a 70-year-old woman who unfortunately suffered injuries to the head and face. This happened near the intersection of Dundas and Dupont streets by a pickup truck who fled the scene. She is listed in critical condition.
